Republican BOE Candidate Demands Retraction of Letter Alleging 'Dumpster Diving': Report
The Fairfield school board candidate has filed a formal complaint with the State Election Enforcement Commission over the issue.

Laura Bernaschina, a Republican candidate for the Fairfield Board of Education, is demanding that Town Attorney Stanton H. Lesser retract a letter sent to her in May regarding an incident in which he wrote that she was seen with another person “rummaging through a Dumpster at Riverfield Elementary School,” according to the Fairfield Citizen.
The Citizen obtained the letter through a Freedom of Information act and reports that Lesser wrote that the dumpster, which is located near the site of construction on school property, “likely contains materials that potentially could be dangerous” and said “You are hereby notified to cease and desist this behavior.”
Lesser also noted that the incident was reported to police.
