Sacred Heart University Student Testifies in Off-Campus Rape Case
The student, 19, testified in the trial of the man accused of taking her from a bar and sexually assaulting her at an apartment.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The 19-year-old Sacred Heart University student testified Tuesday in the trial of Alfonso “Fonzie” Reid, who is accused of sexually assaulting her last March after taking her from a Bridgeport bar to an apartment, according to the Connecticut Post.
Daniel Tepfer of the Post reports the girl told the jury that it began like a typical Tuesday filled with underage drinking at the Golden Star Café on Main Street but ended with the alleged sexual assault and that she couldn’t really understand what happened to her because usually when she says no, “they stop.”
The alleged sexual assault later prompted a raid at the bar in which more than 70 underage drinkers were discovered, along with two veteran Bridgeport police officers who were found violating department policy by working as bouncers.

The victim detailed previously reported accounts of the night, including accusing Reid of having her drink something that made her unable to move while in his car and later using her cell phone to time the alleged sexual assaults at the apartment, according to the Post.
When Reid later dropped her off on Main Street, the victim testified that he put $200 in her purse but she told him she didn’t want it and threw it at him, according to the Post.
