Schools To Open Late Wednesday In Fairfield

The delay is the result of overnight snowfall across the area.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield public and parochial schools will open two hours late Wednesday after overnight snowfall across the area. All morning pre-kindergarten is canceled, according to the school district website, but afternoon pre-kindergarten will open on time.

The Bigelow Center for Senior Activities also announced it would open at 10 a.m. Wednesday, an hour later than usual.

Snow is expected to continue falling mainly before 10 a.m. with a total daytime accumulation of 1 to 2 inches, according to the National Weather Service. The area is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 11 a.m. Wednesday.
