Second Only You 5K Run to Benefit Special Needs Families Set For Sept. 20 in Fairfield
The run, which was started in memory of Mikey Fedak who passed away suddenly last year, will be held at Jennings Beach in Fairfield.

The second 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Kids’ Run for Only You to benefit special needs families will be held Saturday, Sept. 20 at Jennings Beach in Fairfield.
The Only You Foundation was set up by the Fedak family to honor the memory of their son Mikey, who passed away suddenly last year, and its mission is to enrich and enhance the lives of children with special needs and their families.
“With the money we raised at last year’s event we were able to sponsor a day camp for kids with special needs, pay for a Fairfield boy with autism to go to a sleep away special needs camp and purchase an adaptive wheelchair for a girl with Rett Syndrome who loves the beach but was no longer able to enjoy it because of her physical disabilities,” said Kelly Fedak, Mikey’s mother. “We started the foundation after my son suddenly passed away last year and the outpouring of support from the town of Fairfield has really been amazing. We feel so very lucky that the foundation has given us a way to have such a positive impact on the community and honor my son’s memory at the same time.”
