'Serious Injuries' Send 1 To Hospital After Merritt Parkway Crash

FAIRFIELD, CT — A person was taken to an area hospital with "serious injuries" after a crash on the Merritt Parkway, according to officials.

Fairfield and Westport firefighters responded Sunday morning to the scene a two-car crash on the northbound parkway near the Congress Street overpass, according to a Facebook post from the Fairfield Fire Department. The post included a photo of the front of one of the involved vehicles, which appeared to be completely destroyed.

"We would like to remind everyone to please where your seatbelts," the agency said.
