Sexual Predator Sentenced In Connection To Fairfield Sting Operation: Report

The man was one of 10 suspects arrested in an undercover operation that was carried out in conjunction with TV personality Chris Hansen.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The last of the 10 defendants charged in the October 2015 sexual predator sting operation in Fairfield has been sentenced.

The Connecticut Post reports Michael Gentile, 65, was sentenced Friday to 4 ½ years in prison, followed by 10 years on probation, and ordered to register as a sex offender.

Gentile was one of 10 men arrested by Fairfield Police in the four-day undercover operation in 2015 that was carried out in conjunction with former “To Catch a Predator” personality Chris Hansen and the State’s Attorney’s Office.

In the sting operation, the men went to a Fairfield house allegedly to meet up with someone they believed was either a 13-year-old boy or a 12-year-old girl they had been communicating with via the Internet and text messages.

During communications with a person he thought was a 13-year-old girl (but was actually an undercover police officer), Gentile offered to be her sex education teacher and sent her videos of women performing various sex acts, according to the Post.
