Shots Fired In Fairfield; 2 In Custody: Police
Two people were taken into custody Wednesday night after shots were fired from a vehicle in Fairfield, police said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Two people were taken into custody Wednesday night after shots were fired from a vehicle in Fairfield, according to police.
The incident happened about 9 p.m. in the area of Fairfield Woods and Stillson roads, police said. Officers saw the vehicle traveling east on Fairfield Woods Road and stopped it, according to police.
The driver and passenger were taken into custody, police said, adding that a loaded gun was found in the vehicle and casings were recovered from both the vehicle and roadway.

“Based on witness statements and admissions from both subjects, it appears as though the firearm was being discharged into the air,” police said in a Facebook post about midnight. “The rounds do not appear to have struck anything. The subjects responsible are currently in custody and there is no active threat to the public.”
