Staples Wrestling Coach Arrested in Brawl Outside Anna Liffey's in Fairfield

The coach is accused of fighting with a Stratford man outside the bar.

The wrestling coach at Staples-Westport was arrested for allegedly fighting with a Stratford man outside of Anna Liffey’s in Fairfield early Saturday, according to the Fairfield Citizen.

The Citizen reports that David Bernstein, 27, of Henderson Road in Fairfield, who has coached the Wreckers since 2012, was charged with breach of peace along with Thomas Bajda, 21, of Prospect Drive in Stratford.

An off-duty officer spotted the two men fighting with each other on the ground in front of Anna Liffey’s just after midnight, according to the Citizen.

The Citizen reports the men had been arguing inside the bar and were asked to leave. Bajda was taken to Bridgeport Hospital for injuries to his face.
