Suspect Accused Of Stealing Nearly $3,000 Worth Of Merchandise From Fairfield Home Depot: Police

The suspect, a Meriden resident, is alleged to have hit the hardware store on three separate occasions last year, according to authorities.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 31-year-old Meriden man was arrested this month on a warrant after police said he stole a total of $2,852 worth of tools and merchandise last year from the Fairfield Home Depot on Kings Highway Cutoff.

Travoy Granfield was taken into custody on Feb. 6 in connection with the alleged thefts, which occurred on three separate occasions, according to Fairfield Police Sgt. Jenna Wellington. He was arrested at Bridgeport Superior Court, where he was appearing on unrelated charges.

The first incident occurred on April 22, when Granfield was identified as stealing merchandise valued at approximately $1,207, Wellington told Patch.

Eight days later, on April 30, Granfield is alleged to have stolen merchandise valued at approximately $598.

According to Wellington, the third incident occurred on May 19, when merchandise valued at approximately $1,047 was taken.

"Granfield was identified through security footage and is known to Home Depot staff and Fairfield Police," Wellington told Patch.

Granfield faces the following charges:

  • Larceny in the Fourth Degree
  • Conspiracy to Commit Larceny in the Fourth Degree (2 counts)
  • Larceny in the Fifth Degree
  • Conspiracy to Commit Larceny in the Fifth Degree

Granfield is being held in lieu of bail of $25,000, and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
