Suspected Bike Thief Didn't Feel Like Walking, Steals Another On Way Home From Police Station: Report
The man allegedly took the second bike just two hours after being released by Fairfield Police on a promise to appear in court.

A suspected bike thief was arrested just two hours after being released by police for allegedly stealing another bike on the way home from the police station, according to the Fairfield Citizen.
The Citizen reports Jorge Ramirez, 53, of Bridgeport, was taken into custody last Friday after being found to be in the possession of a crack pipe, along with bolt cutters and screwdrivers, after Fairfield Police questioned him after spotting him on a bicycle with a second bike nearby.
Ramirez has been arrested 40 times, including in 2013 when he was charged with using bolt cutters to steal a bike from the Fairfield Metro train station, according to the Citizen.

Just two hours after being released by police on a promise to appear in court, an Old Post resident called police about a man who was allegedly break into a locked garage on his property. Ramirez denied being at the Old Post residence, but did admit to police that he took a bike he saw leaning against a utility pole near police headquarters because he didn’t want to walk home, according to the Citizen.
