Tai Chi & Qigong Classes outdoors on the Great Lawn at Pequot Library

Bring Harmony and Balance to Your Life. Fridays, 9am - 4 sessions: April 22, April 29, May 6, May 13, 2016

Each class is comprised of classic Tai Chi & Qigong warm-ups, gentle and dynamic flowing movements, and guided meditations. Increase flexibility, strength, and the immune system; quiet the mind and reduce stress. Learn the benefit of standing meditation for improving sleep and a before-bedtime routine of simple forms and self-massage. Connect with nature on Pequot Library's expansive Great Lawn.

No prior experience is required and all ages are welcome. Tea served after practice.

Cost: $10 per individual session. Classes will be cancelled for rain.

What are Tai Chi & Qigong? Tai Chi & Qigong offer a simple, yet powerful way to relax and take care of yourself physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Tai chi is a Chinese tradition of gentle, flowing exercise and stretching accompanied by deep breathing, keeping the body in constant motion.

Qigong is the Chinese mind/body art of cultivating, circulating and building energy through physical movement, posture control, and meditation.

About the Instructor, Julie Moffat is certified through the Institute of Integral Qigong & Tai Chi. She has studied a variety of Qigong styles and is a member of the National Qigong Association.
