Vehicle Stolen From Fairfield Restaurant Parking Lot: Police

FAIRFIELD, CT — A vehicle left running in the parking lot of a Fairfield restaurant was among several to be stolen in town in recent days, according to police.

The theft occurred about 11:15 a.m. Monday at Little Pub in the 2100 block of Black Rock Turnpike, according to police, who tracked the stolen vehicle to New Haven, where it was recovered and returned to its owner. A white Infinity followed the stolen vehicle as it left the parking lot in Fairfield, the owner told police.

Also Monday, a person who was a passenger in a white Infinity tried to steal a vehicle from a garage about 10:30 a.m. on Judd Street, but was chased off by the homeowner, according to police, who said they believe the same people responsible for the Judd Street incident were involved in the Little Pub theft.

On Tuesday, a vehicle left unlocked with keys in the ignition to warm up in a driveway was stolen about 8 a.m. in the 800 block of Stratfield Road, police said. Later that day, a vehicle, also unlocked with keys in the ignition, was stolen about 2:30 p.m. from the parking lot of a Dunkin Donuts in the 3300 block of the Post Road, according to police, who added the vehicle was recovered 1:15 a.m. Wednesday by West Haven police.
