• Shorthanded Gilbert softball enjoying historic season, claiming 1st CIAC tournament win since 2007 (nhregister.com) — A key part of Gilbert High’s historic softball run brought players to Falls Village, where they had to sweep a hot, buggy doubleheader at Housatonic to clinch a state tournament berth. With just 10 players, a self-taught pitcher, and a catcher arriving midgame from the DMV, the shorthanded Yellowjackets still secured their eighth win and went on to claim their first CIAC tournament victory since 2007.
