FARMINGTON, CT — Farmington officials canceled the town’s 2026 Memorial Day Parade because of inclement weather, according to an announcement released Monday.
Veterans are still invited to gather for a brief Memorial Day ceremony at noon at the Farmington Town Hall Veterans Memorial at 1 Monteith Drive.
Town officials said the annual parade will resume in 2027 in Farmington and return to Unionville in 2028 as part of the town’s longstanding tradition of alternating parade locations each year.
In its announcement, the town also honored military service members who died while serving the United States.
“Today, and every day, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedoms,” officials said.
Several Connecticut communities canceled Memorial Day parades Monday because of rain and unfavorable weather forecasts.
