Two recent Miss Porter's School graduates are headed to Division I rowing programs. Corinne (Coco) Schoeller '11 will join Brown University's team, and Alexis Bowen '11 will join University of Miami's team.
Coco, a past US Rowing Junior Women's National Team CanAmMex Selection Camp participant, shares that she is excited to row for Brown next year. “I am incredibly excited and honored to be rowing for Brown next year. Olympians have come out of this program, and I look forward to practicing with these caliber athletes beginning day one of my collegiate carrier. Brown has also won more NCAA DI crew championship titles than any other team in the country, and I can't wait to reach my full potential with that kind of team." Coco also notes that she feels well prepared for her collegiate career, "Miss Porter's School has taught me how to manage my time, be a leader, and achieve my goals."
"Rowing is my passion and I am thrilled to be able to pursue it at the highest collegiate level possible. It's what I've always wanted," notes Alexis, a Porter's varsity crew team captain. "Being able to be a DI athlete means so much to me and it's a commitment I feel privileged to be able to make. My [Porter's] coaches have done an amazing job of preparing me for the next level."
