Campus Notes - Farmington College Students

FARMINGTON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Brigham Young University, Provo UT

• Meredith Pescatello of Farmington was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Pescatello is among approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year.

Wheaton College, Norton MA

• Shannon Connolly of Farmington, a sophomore member of the Wheaton College women's swimming and diving team, earned College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America honors for academic achievement of maintaining a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2017 fall semester. The Lyons were undefeated in dual conference meets this season and finished second among 10 teams at the 2018 New England Women's and Men’s Athletic Conference Championship (NEWMACS), for the first time and scored 1,002 points, the highest in program history.
