Campus Notes - Farmington Students

FARMINGTON, CT — Here are some recent notable achievements for college students from Farmington, as reported by readMedia Newswire.

Assumption College, Worcester MA

• The Assumption College Department of Athletics has announced that Dominic Alfano, of Farmington, has earned a coveted spot on the 2017 Assumption College baseball team. Alfano, Class of 2019, will compete during the Greyhounds' spring season, which began in late February when the team traveled to the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, NC, for a four-game series, followed by nine games during their annual spring break trip to Florida.

Colgate University, Hamilton NY

• Colgate University Class of 2020 member Catherine Ferri, from Farmington, has earned the fall Dean's Award with Distinction. The Dean's Award with Distinction at Colgate is awarded to students with a 3.6 or higher term average.
• Students who receive a term grade point average of 3.3 or higher while completing at least three courses for a conventional letter grade during the fall semester earn the Dean's Award for academic excellence. Brandon Biney and Tess Nogles, graduates of Farmington High School and members of the Colgate Class of 2019, earned the award for fall 2016.

Merrimack College, North Andover MA

• Erin Fulton of Unionville was named to the Merrimack College Dean's List for fall 2016. Each semester, Merrimack College undergraduate students earn the right to be named to the Dean's List by earning a minimum 3.25 GPA based on a 4.0 GPA grading system.
