Donations To Farmington Land Trust Enhance Preservation
The Farmington Land Trust Thursday, Jan. 30, is hosting a special forum on donating property to the trust and the merits of doing so.

FARMINGTON, CT — A local land trust dedicated to preserving Farmington's open space to ensure public access to the town's pristine properties is hosting a special forum this week to help grow its ranks.
The Farmington Land Trust is hosting a special panel discussion on Thursday, Jan. 30, on the benefits of donating property to land trusts for open space preservation.
It will take place at 7 p.m. at the Farmington Community Center, 321 New Britain Ave., Farmington.

It is called "The Why and How of Land Donation for Open Space."
"We will have experts from our community lead us through an interactive discussion on how the town and state acquire open space and how you can make a lasting difference in your community," wrote the land trust in an announcement.

The Farmington Land Trust oversees more than 300 acres of fields, forests, wetlands and scenic areas in town, including historic sites and wildlife habitats.
"All of the Land Trust's 69 parcels will remain as open space forever, enriching the quality of life for Farmington residents for generations to come," wrote the trust on its website.
This free forum will be geared toward how folks can donate land to the trust and learn about the benefits the trust offers.
