Two Porter’s equestrians recently wrapped up successful show seasons.
In addition to their participation on the Porter’s equestrian team, Catherine Ferri ‘16 and Susanne McGrady ‘18 also competed as individuals in the Connecticut Hunter Jumper Association (CHJA) and the New England Horseman’s Council (NEHC), and Susanne competed in the Connecticut Horse Show Association (CHSA). From December 1, 2014 to November 30, 2015, Catherine and Susanne competed at shows around Connecticut, accumulating points for high point awards. At the conclusion of the season, Catherine was the CHJA Junior Equitation High Point Champion and Susanne was third in the CHJA Junior Equitation standings and fifth in the CHSA Junior Equitation standings
Catherine is a four-year member of Porter’s equestrian team, and has served as team captain for the past three years. This was her third state championship, and she previously won the Open Equitation 12-14 in 2012 and 2013. Susanne has been a member of the equestrian team both of her years at Porter’s.
Porter’s equestrian program is led by Head Coach Sarah Bouckoms.
