Join UConn Professor of Geology Robert Thorson as he discusses the geological forces that led to the formation of the various types of rocks that make up Hill-Stead's magnificent walls, and about the unique design of what Thorson refers to as "Theodate" walls. The talk will be based on Thorson's essay in Hill-Stead: The Country Place of Theodate Pope Riddle(Princeton Architectural Review, 2010). Books are available for sale in Hill-Stead's Museum Shop. The gallery talk is free to members or with museum admission.
