
The Farmington Valley Film Commission will host its 2nd Annual Film Fete & Mixer with music, food, cash bar and film screenings on Friday, July 22nd from 7:30pm – 10:00 pm at 41 Bridge Street in Collinsville, CT. Refreshments, fun, and entertainment by Cassandra Kubinski will be held from 7:30pm-8:30pm. Chion Wolf will emcee the evening, including film screenings from 8:30pm – 10:00pm.
Chion Wolf is a voice actress, photojournalist, and music purveyor with WNPR, Connecticut Public Radio. She is widely known for her announcing and songwriting on The Colin McEnroe Show, weekdays from 1-2pm.
Over the last decade, Cassandra Kubinski’s musical and theatrical world travels have taken her from roots in Enfield, CT, to NYC, to Nashville, to Germany, and beyond. “Cassandra Kubinski is a rarity…very similar to the legendary solo artists of the early to mid 1970s…she proves that the genre [singer/songwriter] is not only alive and well, but that it is still capable of being transcendent.” - Billy Joel

The Farmington Valley Film Commission(FVFC), part of the Farmington Valley Visitors Association, is a non- profit coalition that facilitates the production of film, television, commercial and advertising in the eight core towns that make up Central Connecticut’s historical, beautiful and evocative Farmington Valley. FVFC is still accepting film submissions for the festival. If you have a short film (approximately 5-30 minutes in length) or a feature trailer shot or post-produced (in full or in part) in any of the Farmington valley’s 8 core towns (Avon, Burlington, Canton, Granby, East Granby, Farmington, Simsbury, New Hartford) please submit your film on DVD only by July 2, 2011 to: FVVA, PO Box 1491, Avon, CT, 06001 Attn: Film Submissions.
