WindingTrails will celebrate a restored Walton Pond on Saturday, October 22nd by cutting a 400 foot long ribbon held up by campers, Winding Trails’ families
and members of the community -- at the pond’s edge. The ceremony will be followed by tours of the pond and refreshments.
Construction on the pond began in October 2010. Thirty thousand cubic feet of mud were removed from Walton Pond and Trout Pond, two dams were replaced, and three
educational boardwalk connecting the southern and northern ends of Walton Pond with Trout Pond. These boardwalks and the pond were able to be used this summer and fall by campers, families and environmental programs. The beautiful and functional pond will be enjoyed by the community for years to come.
