In celebration of Black History Month, the Farmington Historical Society will present a performance of "Tales of the Underground Railroad" by Nzinga's Daughters at 2 p.m. Feb. 13, a Sunday, in the Jones Memorial Building, Miss Porter's School, 54 Main St., Farmington. Nzinga's Daughters, an ensemble based in Plainville, employs song, poetry and prose to tell the story of African Americans. Homes in Farmington were among the stops, or "stations," on the Underground Railroad, a network that conveyed escaped slaves from the South to refuge in Canada. Students may attend the performance free, adults for a $5 donation. Refreshments will follow. Parking will be available on the Miss Porter's campus, with entrance from Main or Garden Streets.
