Noteworthy, Tony Trischka will be on stage for one night at The East Hartford Community Cultural Center on Saturday, May 21, 2011. This Smithsonian Institute recording artist has captured and enraptured audiences all over the globe. Fittingly, Tricshka calls his most recent album, “Territory.”
Tony Trischka is an ambassador of bluegrass and acoustic music. He is perhaps the most influential banjo player in the roots music world. For more than 35 years, his dynamic styling has inspired an entire generation of musicians, counting Alison Brown and Bela Fleck. With his fearless musical curiosity as a guiding force Trischka has done it all, Bluegrass to Broadway.
Tony has an astounding variety of music up his sleeve. He pays homage to the past, including the likes of Pete Seeger and Earl Scruggs, from the traditional music scene, all the while earning the title of “Godfather of New Acoustic Music” according to The New York Times.
