Farmington Emergency Shelter Closed, Comfort Centers Available
The Plainville YMCA will be available Wednesday for those who have lost power.

The Farmington emergency shelter, which housed just 15 people Monday night, has closed but with more than 1,000 customers still without power in Farmington, the town has made other arrangements.
The Community and Senior Center at 322 New Britain Ave. will be open as a charging and comfort center from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Oct. 30, and tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. It will not be open as an overnight shelter. The Plainville YMCA has extended shower facilities to Farmington residents without power starting on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 5:30 a.m. – 10 p.m.
CL&P has told Farmington officials that power restoration efforts in town will likely not begin for another 48 hours. For more information, click here.
