Farmington Girls Come Up Short in Class L Finals
A 22-0 run in the second half propelled RHAM to the Class L girls basketball championship Sunday at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

UNCASVILLE, CT — After cutting an 11-point halftime deficit to single digits, the Farmington High School girls basketball team looked to embark on an offensive spurt that would bring the Indians back into its Class L championship tilt with top-seeded RHAM.
Instead, it was the Sachems who caught fire, tallying 22 straight points while holding third-seeded Farmington scoreless for more than seven minutes en route to a 58-35 victory and the school's first girls hoop title.
Long distance was the name of the game for RHAM, connecting for nine three-point baskets, including five by Jaclyn Santella, who led all scorers with 20 points. Gretchen Kron had 14 and Lia Baroncini added 11 for the Sachems.
