Farmington Makes Top 10 of Initial Girls Basketball Poll

The Indians won their first nine games to open the season.

FARMINGTON, CT — A season-opening nine-game winning streak helped propel Farmington High School into the top 10 of the initial girls basketball poll of coaches and media members.

The Indians, ranked seventh, are 9-0 entering the week of Jan. 8, with five victories coming by single-digit margins against very formidable opponents. Farmington has two games on tap this week, highlighted by a Tuesday showdown at sixth-ranked Simsbury.

Mercy (7-0) and New London (8-0) tied for the top spot in the initial round of polling, garnering six first-places votes apiece.
