Farmington Obituary: Betty Griffin, 81

Betty (Barnes) Griffin, 81, of Unionville, beloved wife of Arthur R. Griffin for 57 years, passed away October 31, 2015.

Born in Canton to Raymond and Helen (Richardson) Barnes, she was raised with her brothers Ray and Don, and her sister Georgiana (Brown). She married and settled in Unionville where she was a resident for 48 years. She worked in the Town of Farmington public school system for 25 years before retiring. Her greatest joy came from watching her family grow.

She is survived by her son Andrew and his wife Mary and their 3 children, Ryan, Megan and Sean; and her son Stephen and his wife Sally and their 2 children, Sara and Stephanie; and 2 great grandchildren Nathaniel and Rosemarie.

She loved her day trips and travels with Art; hitching up the trailer and going camping; making magic with her yarn; watching UConn Women’s basketball; and escaping into many, many good books.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday, November 7th from 1:30, closing with a Service of Remembrance at 3:30, at the Carmon Funeral Home and Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. She will be interred at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Farmington.
