Farmington Obituary: Dr. Erik Linnolt, 95

Dr. Erik Linnolt, our beloved friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4th, 2015 at his home in Farmington.

He was born on January 10, 1920 in Parnu, Estonia. He was predeceased by his wife, Asta Willmann, who passed away in 1984 and by his older brother Alexander.

Dr. Linnolt obtained his medical degree from the Stockholm Karolinska Institute, Sweden in 1951. From there, he emigrated to Canada and then to the United States. He settled in Farmington, where he and his wife built their home surrounded by a beautiful garden. He loved nature and was an accomplished arborist and bird-watcher. He belonged to and contributed to numerous wildlife preservation organizations.

Dr. Linnolt was a psychiatrist at The Institute of Living in Hartford for over 30 years. He was highly respected by his colleagues and beloved by his patients for his dedication to healing the mind. A unique soul, Erik will always be remembered for his extraordinary insight and wit.

He leaves behind his Goddaughter, and his loving friends and family in the United States and Estonia.

Funeral services will be private.
