
Grant E. Sheely, 65, passed away suddenly on October 11th, 2015. He was predeceased by his mother, Frances Sheely and his father, Leroy W. Sheely.
Grant was a physical education teacher at Noah Wallace School and served in the Farmington Public Schools for 36 years. Grant’s dedication to the Farmington school district and Noah Wallace was unwavering and his influence profound. Grant was an ordinary guy who lived a quiet but extraordinary life.
He leaves his two beloved children, Madeleine Anne and Michael Francis as well as his sister, Pam Hall, his brother, Tim Sheely and his wife Jeanne, his brother, Tom Sheely and his wife Jolanta, his nieces and nephews, Nathan, Kate, Hally and aunts and uncles. He also leaves his entire Aseltine family including his nieces and nephews, Heather, Andrew, Karen, Anthony, Adam and Nicolas. He leaves his dear friend, Nancy Nelson, her children and many other close friends as well as his beloved colleagues.

Grant’s impact on generations of Farmington students was immeasurable and his loss will be felt by all who have benefitted from even a short time with this truly exceptional man and teacher. A final gift of love was given by Grant through tissue donation.
A memorial service will be held at a place and time to be announced soon. A scholarship fund will be established in Grant’s honor shortly.
