Farmington Obituary: Margaret Kerchis, 81

Condolences to her family and friends.

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Margaret (Peggy) Kerchis went to be with her God on Friday, June 16th, at the age of 81.

She was born July 4, 1935 to Kathleen (Shearer) and Hans Beyer and lived her whole life in Farmington. Graduating from Mount Saint Joseph in 1953, she married her first love Jack Preissner in 1955, losing him 2 years later to cancer. She then married Russell Kerchis in 1959 (divorced), along the way having her 6 children, whom she leaves to mourn her loss – Diane (Jay) Magnuson, Elizabeth (Bob) Horan, Lynn Musulin, John (Karen) Kerchis, Russell Kerchis and Don Kerchis. Also left to miss her love are her grandchildren, Ryan & Jaime Magnuson, Eric & Jason Horan, Dana & Austin Musulin, Josh & Jessica Kerchis and Jackson Kerchis, and her 5 great grandchildren. She leaves her brother Kenneth Beyer of West Hartford and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother George Beyer and sister Marie Peltier.

Peg believed her greatest legacy was her family whom she taught how to love, laugh and have faith. She encouraged us all to live well and pass these traits on to the world. Everyone who knew Peg knows how truly special she was – what a kind and giving spirit she had. The family asks that in tribute to her, you do a kind and loving act for someone. The world has lost a remarkable woman, one who gave so much to so many, but heaven has gained its newest angel.
