
Moira W. (Pilcher) Chubb, 74, of Avon, beloved wife for 50 years to Barry Chubb, passed away, Friday, October 23, 2015.
She was born in New Zealand and was the daughter of the late Geoffrey Victor and Eleanor (Bartlett) Pilcher. Moira traveled from New Zealand to the United States with her husband and children in 1978 and has resided in Avon since 1984. She had been employed by Metro Realty of Farmington in various capacities for over 25 years. An active member of the West Avon Congregational Church, Moira served on the Outreach Committee, was involved in the Book Club and Dining for Women groups at the church. She also had been a member of the Avon Historical Society. Moira loved spending time with her family and friends, traveling, enjoyed gardening and being a social butterfly.
Besides her husband, Barry, she leaves two daughters Marlene Lichatz (Matthew) and Ngaire Kimball (Scott) all of Avon; a son Neville Chubb of New Zealand; three grandchildren Breanna Chubb, Keeley Kimball and Ryder Kimball; her sister Colleen Pilcher of New Zealand; and her dear friend Sarah Meyers. She was predeceased by her daughter Juanita I. Chubb, a brother Raymond Pilcher, and a sister Daphne Blackshaw.

Her family will receive friends Wednesday, October 28, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 29, 2015, 3 PM at the West Avon Congregational Church, 280 Country Club Road, Avon. The Rev. Dr. Brian Hardee, Pastor will officiate.
