Farmington Obituary: Paul Urso, 73

Condolences to his family and friends.

Paul Anthony Urso, 73, of Farmington, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016, at Apple Rehab of Farmington Valley in Plainville.

He was born on October 31, 1942, in New Britain, Connecticut, to the late Anthony Urso and Theresa (Melito) Urso. A graduate of Plainville High School, Class of 1960, Paul went on to attend Porter School of Design from which he graduated in 1963. An eye for detail, he was an expert craftsman specializing in woodworking and held a long career as a draftsman in tool design for various Connecticut-based companies. A proud American, Paul served his country in the United States Navy.

Paul was known for being a highly knowledgeable and well-read man with a quick wit and refreshing sense of humor. In addition, he was an avid stamp and coin collector, sportsman, and cook. A member of the Irish Club in New Britain, the Bristol, Connecticut Lodge of the Elks Club, and the Quartette Club in New Britain, Paul will be fondly remembered by many for his loving, loyal heart.

Paul is survived by his sister, Mary Susco, and her husband, Frank; his nephew, James Susco, and his wife, Michelle Moore; his niece, Cary Bastin, and her husband, John; his nephew, Michael Susco, and his wife, Madeleine; his grand nieces, Morgan Susco, and her fiancé, Tyler Johnson, Marlee Susco, Elizabeth Susco, Tessa Susco, and McKenna Bastin; his grand nephew, Michael Susco; and numerous cousins, as well as his second family: the members of the Quartette Club, where he was a lifetime member.

Paul’s family would especially like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Apple Rehab of Farmington Valley for taking exceptional care of Paul during his last days.

A graveside service in celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 11:00 am, meeting directly in Saint Joseph Cemetery, 151 Farmington Avenue, Plainville. Military honors will be held in the cemetery immediately following committal services.
