Farmington Obituary: William Dillon, Jr., 97

William J. Dillon, Jr., age 97, died Tuesday, September 1, 2015.

Loving and cherished husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he was a World War II veteran having served in ammunition and bomb disposal in Hawaii and Okinawa. A Dean grad, having grown up in Milford, MA, son of William and Susan Dillon, he worked most of his life as Advertising and Promotion Manager for GE/Hotpoint of New England. He and his adored wife Marion brought up three children in Natick, MA, retiring to Cape Cod in the late 70’s. When in their mid 80’s, they moved to Farmington, CT to be closer to family. He will be remembered most for his amazing wit and humor, interest in and kindness to others, and his devotion to family.

He is survived by wife, Marion Dillon, daughter Susan Evans (Peter) of Avon, CT, sons, William J. Dillon III (Charlene) of Exeter, RI, and Kevin Dillon of Lakeside, CA, as well as five grandchildren, Brittany Evans Klocek (Jim), Craig Evans (Claire), Ali Evans, Kevin Dillon Jr., Kelsey Dillon and by four great grandchildren.

To honor his wishes, burial will be a private family gathering at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Bourne on Cape Cod, MA.
