Farmington Obituary: William Hayhurst, Jr., 68

William Chart Hayhurst Jr., 68, of Farmington died peacefully at Arden Courts on August 12, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Vanetta for 46 years.

Bill was born in Chicago on July 17, 1949 to the late Hilda (Ratzesberger) and William Hayhurst Sr. He resided in Illinois until 1972 when he accepted a position at the home office of Aetna Life & Casualty as an underwriter. He remained with Aetna for the majority of his career rising to the level of assistant vice president, then spending the last few years with Telesis Data Solutions.

Bill also served as chairman of the board of directors for the Farmington Public Library for over a decade. In retirement he developed an interest in bicycling and completed three “century rides” during that time.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by a daughter, Katy Fressola, her husband, Bob, of West Hartford and their two children Lauren and Ben. Bill also leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sarah Hayhurst, of Cumberland Rhode Island and a sister, Sue Denninger, of Geneva, IL.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the caring, compassionate staff of Arden Courts of Farmington and the McLean Hospice team.
