Farmington State Sen. Bye Seconds Reappointment of Revenue Commissioner
Bye said Commissioner Kevin Sullivan has an extensive record of public service.

State Senator Beth Bye (D-West Hartford, Farmington) today rose in the State Senate to second the re-appointment of Department of Revenue Commissioner Kevin B. Sullivan of West Hartford to another four-year term as head of Connecticut’s tax collection agency.
Sen. Bye and Commissioner Sullivan have known each other for 15 years.

“Kevin has been a mentor to me for many years,” Sen. Bye said. “He has an extensive public service record and we are lucky to have him in such an important position. Kevin brings a great work ethic and a very keen mind to what is unquestionably a tough job.”
In 2011, Governor Dannel Malloy appointed Sullivan to be Connecticut’s Commissioner of Revenue Services. Before becoming Commissioner of Revenue Services, he was President of The Children’s Museum and Vice President for Community and Institutional Relations at Trinity College in Hartford.

Elected as a State Senator in 1986, he led the State Senate as President Pro Tempore from 1997 to 2004, and served as Connecticut’s 106th Lieutenant Governor from 2004 to 2007. From 1981 through 1986, Sullivan served on the West Hartford Town Council and as Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
