Four FHS Musicians Receive National Awards

Student musicians selected for national choir and orchestra in Pittsburgh sponsored by music education association

Farmington High School Musicians Saadhvi Kartik, Lilian Yim, Pooja Swami and Tristan Wong were selected to participate for the National Association of Music Education All-Eastern Music Festival in Pittsburgh, PA on April 4-7th. Lillian Yim, cellist, Pooja Swami, alto, Tristan Wong, tenor and Saadhvi Kartik, alto were selected from students who qualified from all states in the eastern portion of the country from Florida to Maine crossing over to Pennsylvania. These students are the top musicians in their states and represent the best high school musicians in the country.

Leslie Imse, Farmington Music Department Chair states, “this is the most competitive music festival of National Association of Music Education. All of these musicians have participated in their state’s All-State festivals with the highest adjudication scores over the past two years. We are so proud of such a large selection from our Farmington music program.”
