
In a press release, recently announced it has established a new volunteer group of dynamic leaders and young professionals, the Hill-Stead Ambassadors. The group is charged with helping to engage younger museum audiences and create entrepreneurial opportunities for the 152-acre National Historic Landmark.
“We’ve hand-selected this group of volunteers, and are confident that their enthusiasm for the museum will be contagious,” said Sue Sturtevant, Hill-Stead’s Director and CEO. “They represent a wide variety of talents, from fundraising to marketing to event planning. We’re very excited about their potential here.”
Each of the Ambassadors is dedicated to making a difference and supporting Hill-Stead’s mission by fostering promotional and marketing initiatives and developing fundraising events.

The group’s first event will be Hill-Stead Wines: A Prohibition Peek, Friday, April 15, 7-10 pm, to celebrate, in roaring ‘20s style, the launch of the museum’s private-label wine collection. Information and tickets for the event are available on the museum website.

A National Historic Landmark and an Official Project of Save America’s Treasures, Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington, CT, is a member of CT’s Historic Gardens and a stop on the Connecticut Art Trail (www.arttrail.org), a partnership of fifteen world-class museums and historic sites across the state. The museum’s period rooms are open for tours Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am – 4 pm. The last tour of the day begins at 3 pm. Grounds are open to the public daily 7:30 am-5:30 pm.
