Marie Olesak, 76; Unionville Resident; Worked for Aetna Life Insurance

Marie (Ferraro) Olesak, 76, of Unionville, widow of Andrew J. Olesak, passed away peacefully Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014.

Born in Italy, Feb. 3, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Seraphina (Tedesco) Ferraro.

She resided in New Britain for 18 years before moving to Unionville in 1964. She was a graduate of New Britain High School, Class of 1956. Prior to retiring, Marie was employed at Aetna Life Insurance Company in Hartford and was also associated with the First National Stores and Stop & Shop. She was a longtime communicant at the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea in Unionville.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James R. and Jonyl S. Olesak of Avon; her beloved granddaughter, Alyson M. Olesak; her sister-in-law, Sally Olesak of Meriden and her brother-in-law, Frank Uryga of Southington.

She was predeceased by her two sons, Kenneth Olesak and Andrew J. Olesak Jr., and her two brothers, Vincenzo Ferraro and Salvatore Ferraro.

The family would like to thank Marie’s wonderful caregiver for the last 2 ½ years, Nettie Henry of Hartford.

Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville, on Wednesday, Aug. 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Thursday, Aug. 21 at 9:15 a.m. followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, Unionville at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Avon.
