Clarkson University, Potsdam NY

• Cordell Szot of Farmington, a junior majoring in engineering and management, was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2017 semester at Clarkson University. Dean's List students must achieve a minimum 3.25 grade-point average and also carry at least 14 credit hours.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• Twenty students from the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education at Eastern Connecticut State University were inducted into the Alpha Chapter of the Alpha Upsilon Chi (AUC) honor society this spring 2017 semester. AUC is the international honor society for health, physical education, recreation, sport and dance, and was established to recognize college students for their academic achievement and professional involvement in the field. Among the inductees was Megan Styrczula of Unionville, who majors in Physical Education.

Emerson College, Boston MA

• Jeremy Stein of Farmington graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Design/Technology at Emerson College's 137th commencement ceremony, held on May 14, 2017.
  Approximately 975 bachelor's degrees were conferred during the undergraduate exercises and nearly 270 master's degrees were conferred during the graduate exercises.

Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta GA

• Landon Barnes of Farmington has earned a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. Barnes was among approximately 3,800 undergraduate and graduate students who received degrees during Georgia Tech's 253rd Commencement exercises on May 5-6, 2017, at the McCamish Pavilion.

Loyola University Maryland, Baltimore MD

• Mary Becker, of Farmington, received a BA degree in Elementary Education at Loyola University Maryland's 165th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Royal Farms Arena in downtown Baltimore.

Siena College, Loudonville NY

• Kerry Dunn has been named to the Siena College Dean's List for the spring 2017 semester. Dunn is from Farmington. To be named to the Dean's List, a student's grade point average for the semester must be between 3.5 and 3.89.

Tunxis Community College, Farmington CT

• Tunxis Community College in Farmington has announced the names of those students who have qualified for the Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Students matriculated in a certificate or degree program who have earned a semester grade point average of 3.4 or higher and have successfully completed 12 or more credits, or have earned a cumulative 12 credits over multiple semesters, are eligible for this academic honor. University of Delaware, Newark DE

• Megan Brockelman of Farmington, Kaylee Drab of Farmington, Nicole Gregory of Farmington and Evelyn Pantelopoulos of Unionville have been named to the University of Delaware Dean's List for the spring 2017 semester.

University of Hartford, West Hartford CT

• The University of Hartford is pleased to announce the following students from Farmington and Unionville have been named to the Dean's List for spring 2017: Calista Fitzherbert, Kaelin Baker, Samantha Leary, Andrew Ouellette, Caroline Zeiser, Sean Kraut, Brian Wiegard, Robert Stolarz, Eric Sims, Noah Floeser and Pasquale Caruso.

University of Scranton, Scranton PA

• Three local residents were among more than 1,600 students who were named to The University of Scranton's Dean's List for the 2017 spring semester. The Dean's List recognizes students for academic excellence. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours during the semester to make the Dean's List. Local students are Brigit Cruess of Farmington, a junior nursing major in the University's Panuska College of Professional Studies; Kerryann Randall of Unionville, a junior occupational therapy major in the University's Panuska College of Professional Studies; and Nathan Koziol of Farmington, a freshman marketing major in the University's Kania School of Management.

Wheaton College, Norton MA

• Freshman Shannon Connolly, a member of the Farmington High School Class of 2016, was named to the Dean's List at Wheaton College in Norton, Mass, for the spring 2017 semester, earning a 3.60 grade point average. Shannon is a member of the Wheaton women’s varsity swimming and diving team and the Wheaton chorale.
