FARMINGTON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Gettysburg College, Gettysburg PA

• At Gettysburg, students use the opportunity to study globally to pursue diverse paths in multiple areas of study. Over 200 students studied globally in the fall 2017 semester, representing over 30 majors in over 25 countries. Ashley Van Hoof, Psychology major from Farmington, studied in Denmark.

James Madison University, Harrisonburg VA

• Unionville resident Peter Michael Dunst has been named to the dean's list at James Madison University for the fall 2017 semester. Students who earn dean's list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899. Dunst is majoring in Health Services Admin.

Marist College, Poughkeepsie NY

• Six students from Farminton have been named to the Marist College Dean's List for the fall 2017 semester: Beatrix Bradford, a member of the Class of 2019 majoring in Environmental Science & Policy - Science Emphasis; Anna Bradford, a member of the Class of 2019 majoring in Mathematics; Sarah Held, a member of the Class of 2019 majoring in Social Work; Morgan O'Coin, a member of the Class of 2019 majoring in Business Administration; Ava Perfito, a member of the Class of 2020 majoring in Business Administration; and Meghan Rigney, a member of the Class of 2020 majoring in Communication.

University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa AL

• Carolann R. Bordiere of Farmington was named to The University of Alabama's Dean's List for fall 2017. A total of 12,594 students enrolled during the 2017 fall semester at UA were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students.

University of Hartford, West Hartford CT

• CORRECTION of a recent Dean's List story that included some incorrect student names and did not include first-year students who made our Dean's List.
  The University of Hartford is pleased to announce the following students from Farmington have been named to the Dean's List for fall 2017: Bruno Caruso, Pasquale Caruso, McGwire Keener, Brian Wiegard, Eric Sims, Jillian Maraj, Nicholas Moisidis, Kayla Just, Caroline Zeiser and Miles Messier.

University of the Sciences, Philadelphia PA

• Joby Cherian of Farmington has been named to the fall 2017 Dean's List at University of the Sciences. Selection for this award is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a "C" and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4 for courses taken in the fall of 2017. Cherian is a health science student.
