Newfound Drama Club Performs at Middlewoods of Farmington

They say it’s never too late to start a new hobby, and the residents of Middlewoods of Farmington have experienced this first hand! Joan Scafarello, a new resident of the award-winning senior living community, expressed a great interest in theater – not just going to shows, but also performing in them! Tanya Janeczko, Activities Director of Middlewoods of Farmington, was unsure how much interest there would be from other residents, but was pleasantly surprised at their reaction. The residents were thrilled at the opportunity to perform a play called “Oh, Doctor,” a comedy about a doctor who prescribes the most bizarre remedies to his patients. Many residents eagerly signed up, and just like that, their Drama Club was formed.

Janeczko explains, “I could not be more excited about our newfound Drama Club! The residents had an absolute blast putting this together and we’re already planning our next performance with even more resident involvement!” Scafarello’s flicker of interest has developed into a widespread community activity that residents, staff and family members now enjoy.

Middlewoods of Farmington Independent and Assisted Living Community is located at 509 Middle Road in Farmington and is affiliated with the UConn Health Center.
