Get Coffee, Learn About Farmington Town Hall Project
With a vote coming April 27, the building committee is at Starbucks Saturday to promote turning old FHS into the new Farmingotn Town Hall.

FARMINGTON, CT — Caffeine lovers Saturday will have a chance to down their cup of Joe and learn about what could be one of the town's most historic building projects, one that will be decided at the polls later this month.
The committee charged with planning the transformation of what will soon be the old Farmington High School into a new Farmington Town Hall is hosting "Coffee With The 1928 Building Committee."
The event will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 1, at the Farmington Starbucks, located on Route 4 at 838 Farmington Ave.

"Stop in for a cup of coffee and meet with members of the 1928 Building Committee to discuss their work and ask any questions you may have," reads an announcement about the event.
Whether the old building, which was built in 1928, stays or goes will depend on voters, as the Farmington Town Council has said if voters say "no," the classic building will go.
The town will have a referendum on Thursday, April 27, to decide a $16 million appropriation to transform the "1928 Building" into a new town hall.
Poll times that day will be from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The "1928 Building" is the old FHS portion that will be left standing when most of the facility is torn down as part of the already approved, $135.6 million new high school project.
The Farmington 1928 Building Committee pitched the idea before the Farmington Town Council in January, with council members voting to charge the committee with further planning for the old FHS building to be a town hall.
