Police: Employee Made, Spent Fake Gift Cards

Nikita Santos, 24, of 460 Edgewood St., Hartford, was arrested Jan. 26 at Westfarms mall and charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. According to arrest records, Santos is accused of shoplifting at JC Penney with an underage accomplice. She was released on $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 1, 2012.

Jailene Diaz, 18, of 95 Carolina Road, Bristol, turned herself in on a warrant Jan. 23. Diaz is accused of making and using fake gift cards from JC Penney, where she used to work. She was released on bond and scheduled to appear in court Feb. 6, 2012.

Darnell Jerome Davis, 30, of 125 Mallard Drive, Avon, was arrested by warrant Jan. 22 at 56 Mallard Drive and charged with second-degree harassment. According to arrest records, Davis is accused of sending harassing text messages to an ex-girlfriend. He posted $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear Jan. 23, 2012. Davis was previously arrested in Farmington on similar charges on Nov. 8, 2011.

Stephen Walczyk, 24, of 26 Maple Ave., was arrested Jan. 21 at 28 Tunxis St. and charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct after a domestic disturbance with a family member. He was released on $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear Jan. 23, 2012. Both charges are misdemeanors and the case is awaiting disposition.
