Porter's Welcomes Professional Triathletes Mirinda Carfrae and Timothy O'Donnell

On Friday, June 23, Porter's was pleased to welcome professional triathletes Mirinda Carfrae and Timothy O'Donnell to campus.

Ms. Carfrae and Mr. O'Donnell spoke about their journey to becoming professional triathletes, providing insight into the grueling training regimen, nutrition, and mental toughness needed to be a competitor. They also spoke about how they maintain a work/life balance. Following their talk, Ms. Carfrae and Mr. O'Donnell participated in a Q&A session with six members of Porter's varsity swim team.

About Mirinda Carfrae: Mirinda Carfrae is an Australian professional triathlete and an Ironman Triathlon world champion. She has achieved podium positions in six of her seven attempts at the Ironman World Championships, including first place finishes in 2010, 2013, and 2014. She also won the 2007 Ironman 70.3 World Championship.

About Timothy O'Donnell: Timothy O'Donnell is an American long-distance triathlete. He was the winner of the 2009 ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championships, finished in third place in the 2015 Ironman World Championship, and most recently captured the 2017 Ironman Boulder title, setting new course records in the swim, bike, and run.
