Public Hearing to be Held on Farmington Land Purchase

Other land purchases will also be considered at Tuesday meeting.

The Farmington Town Council will hold its regular meeting Tuesday, July 9 at 7 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers.

The meeting will begin with a public hearing on the proposed purchase of Lot 13 Twin Ponds Road. The land is currently owned by Kenneth J. Dorio and is offered for a price of $135,000.

The council will also recognize the Farmington High School crew team for a being the first in the town’s history to win a state championship with its first boat. The team also won its first point trophy at the Connecticut Public Schools Rowing Association Championship.

In addition, the council will consider purchasing the following lots:

- Property Owned by Dunning Sand and Gravel located at Lot 1A River Road (3 acres of land) for a Price of $24,000.

- 1A River Road to the TPZ for a Report Under Section 8-24 of the Connecticut State Statues.

-  Properties Owned by Joyce Medvec and Shirley Bryant for a Price of $330,000 located at Lots 23A and 24A Plainville Avenue (10.96 acres).

- Lots 23A and 24A Plainville Avenue
