Rabid Skunk Found In Farmington: Police
The animal carrying the deadly disease was caught over the weekend, according to authorities.
FARMINGTON, CT — A skunk with a virus that causes certain death to those who get it was found in town over the weekend and police are urging folks to watch out.
According to the Farmington Police Department, a skunk was captured by animal control officers in the Knollwood Road area of town and it was determined to be rabid.
Rabies is almost always fatal when symptoms of infection occur, but quick treatments after an encounter with a rabid animal will stave off any problems.

With that in mind, police said people should be wary for themselves and their pets in Farmington.
"Always keep all pets up to date on vaccines and control their ability to interact with wildlife," police said Wednesday afternoon in a statement.
