Viewfinder: Rennie McQuilkin Leads Local Poets to Translate Art Into Words

Antrim House, Sunken Garden Poetry Festival founder shares at writing workshop.

Rennie McQuilkin, Simsbury resident and founder of both Antrim House and the Sunken Garden Poetry Festival, led an evening of poetry at the Wednesday evening.

McQuilkin began by sharing how he thinks about art and the creative process in an evening which included a guided tour of the museum, a presentation about ekphrasis - a literary description of visual art, discussion and readings. During the tour participants were encouraged to find inspiration in one of the Hill-Stead's collection of works for a poem.
