FARMINGTON, CT — Growing concerns over the coronavirus pandemic has prompted school officials in Farmington to suspend operations for a minimum of two weeks.

A message posted Thursday on the Farmington Public Schools website reads:

Given recent updates and information from Governor Lamont and DPH, along with the emerging active spread of the COVID-19 in areas of Connecticut, we will close school for two weeks beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 through Friday, March 27, 2020. We plan to return to school on Monday, March 30, 2020.
There will be no school-related activities during the two week closure. EXCL will be open on Monday, March 16th and we plan to continue to assess the viability of keeping EXCL open with this evolving health issue. At this time, we ask EXCL families to seek alternative arrangements in case we also make the decision to close EXCL.
