• Farmington Police Logs: Aug. 27 to Aug. 30, 2026 (patch.com) — Farmington police recorded several late-August arrests, including a New Britain resident charged with failure to appear and a Burlington driver facing multiple alcohol-related driving charges. All charges remain allegations, with court dates set for late August and mid-September, giving Farmington residents a snapshot of recent public safety activity.
   

• Yale Library names Abigail Swingen executive director of Lewis Walpole Library (yale.edu) — A new chapter is starting at the Lewis Walpole Library in the Farmington Valley, as Yale names historian Abigail Swingen its executive director and W. S. Lewis Librarian. Swingen, who grew up in nearby West Hartford, will guide the renowned 18th‑century British studies center and expand its scholarly programs and public outreach for local and visiting researchers.
